The project

Digital Curator for a day (DC4aday) is an educational program designed from diadrasis and Clio Muse Tours for the "Nikos Kazantzakis Museum". The purpose of the project is for the young generation to get acquainted with and participate in the promotion of contemporary art.

Youngsters are invited, through interactive learning, to get familiar with the ways of digital promotion for museums, while discovering Nikos Kazantzakis Museum. Right after exploring the collections and getting inspired by its exhibits to create their own digital tour, dedicated to the work and life of N. Kazantzakis. DC4aday will offer the tools for the content creation of digital tours that "speaks the language" of its creators, following a "bottom-up” approach. DC4aday starts with educational activities in the museum and will be complemented with an online mentoring session and the opportunity to participate in a competition. The six-month program is addressed to young persons around 12-16-year-old, ending with a competition, with a prize of registering the winning digital tour on the multi-awarded platform Clio Muse Tours.

DC4aday is under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and was funded by the Ministry of Culture under its program for actions of museums, galleries and collections of contemporary culture.

Contents

The proposal is a complete educational process that introduces participants to the "invisible" professional world of the museum, providing knowledge, basic skills (skills), and opportunities for real action (practice). As adolescents’ pre-existing knowledge on the subject is minimal, through the workshops and the Online mentoring participants will learn the museum through playing, discover digital tools as well as methods and practices of creating thematic digital tours.
