The project

"VIADUCT" is a two-day seminar, dealing with how characterization and dating analysis can be successfully integrated in any conservation project for  Built Heritage. The main aim of this seminar is to help scholars of different disciplines understand in practice the importance of the effective use of scientific analysis, the necessity of integrating it with all context analyses and, finally, the crucial role of interdisciplinary dialogue, making the best out of each analysis.

Contents

Main Structure of the Seminar

First day: Selecting, preparing and ordering one or more analyses. When, how and why? Second day: Interpretation of analysis data. What do we expect, what do we get?

The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments, for conservators of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. The seminar was hosted at the Headquarters of the Hellenic National Committee of ICOM in Athens.

The seminar was organized by DIADRASIS in collaboration with CNCPC-INAH of Mexico and the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient & Modern Monuments of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports. "VIADUCT research project" was funded by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation Funding 2015 programme. The seminar was hosted at Athens University Museum.
