The project

Following last year's success with the World Heritage Youth Forum, Diadrasis is very happy to announce a new close cooperation with UNESCO in partnership with the European Union for developing The European Young Heritage Professionals Forum within the joint project ‘2018 - European Year of Cultural Heritage: Engaging Youth for an Inclusive and Sustainable Europe’.

The Forum was hosted by the Croatian Commission for UNESCO and the Croatian Ministry of Culture. It will take place from 20 to 24 May 2019 in Zadar, Croatia to explore potential synergies and challenges of working on tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the European context. The Forum enabled participants to enhance project management and communication skills by working on their own heritage projects with experts and peers from across Europe. In addition to building a community, the young professionals were encouraged to become active ‘cultural heritage messengers’ by spreading the message on the importance of cultural heritage protection and safeguarding in their own communities and beyond.

TESTIMONIALS

“Project laboratories were the most useful experience in the forum. ..”

“Forum was well facilitated, and people were lovely. I will never forget this experience. I learned a lot from cultural heritage and how the management of cultural heritage works in different countries and globally.”

“Overall, it was great!!! It could have been good to have one last day off together though, to let the ideas set, talk about future collaborations and bond”

“I enjoyed the forum overall. Having done many conferences in the past years, this was a refreshing way to learn, think and discuss. Rather than a continuous stream of knowledge, the week was a kind of process in which we learned more and more every day. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on the organisation again. You did a wonderful job! I really hope to see everyone again soon."

“I don't have much to recommend: everything was great! As a participant, I really enjoyed the feeling that you had thought the programme through in every possible way and not for a moment I felt that I should not have participated! Thank you for that experience! :-)”
