The project

Discovering history, culture, people and their stories, following the path of Nature Snapshots from our exciting road trip to Lechovo and the surrounding villages in the Florina region of Western Macedonia, Greece, thanks to our collaboration with the  Paths of Greece and the warm hospitality of the Lechovo Cultural Association.  

The aim of this project is to collect points of cultural interest in connection to the promotion of hiking trails in the Lechovo area. The on-site recording was carried out following the first bibliographic research, conducted from the 15th to the 18th December 2017.  61 points of cultural interest were recorded in 11 villages, with a GPS point on the map, a database, the bibliographic and field research, 14 elements of intangible cultural heritage as well as some so-called "secrets" of the area were recorded.

The final study includes:

•  brief description of the typology features of the region's culture
•  total log list
•  tables of detailed descriptions of points of interest for each village
• "secrets" of the area
•  a photographic digital file for each spot and position records.
